The Israel Antiquities Authority |
The Israel Antiquities Authority was founded In April 1990, in accordance with the Law of Antiquities. The Authority is a large organization for all archaeological sites, information and other data relating to Israel's antiquities. The Authority is active in the development of antiquity sites, among them Jerusalem, Acre, Bet Shean and Caesarea, while investing considerable effort to conserve buildings at historic cities such as Safed, Shefar'am, Ramla, Tiberias, Beer Sheva and Jaffa.
Furthermore, the Antiquities Authority has set for itself the goal of increasing public awareness of archaeology.
The Conservation Department of the Israel Antiquities Authority enforces conservation policy to preserve the cultural heritage of Israel.

The Old Acre Development Company Ltd. |
The Old Acre Development Company Ltd. is a government company subordinate to the Ministry of Tourism. It is financed by all the government ministries, in accordance with its areas of activity.
Its revenues are devoted to developing the Old City and marketing it in accordance with a regional concept combining hotels, accommodation, tours and visits to sites and attractions in and around Acre.
A Visitors and Reservations Center is open for public use. It is located in the Enchanted Garden, which is in the northern anchor at the entrance to Old Acre. The Center provides information services and makes reservations for accommodation and visits to the many sites in Acre, the Western and Upper Galilee, Haifa, the Carmel Mountain Range and Nazareth.

Acre is blessed with a variety of tourist sites from many periods, crowned by the almost completely preserved Crusader city.
In Acre, various religions coexist. Alongside the mosques scattered through the city are Catholic churches and Jewish synagogues. Acre is the most important site for the Bahai, whose founder, Baha'u'llah, is buried in a shrine in the city. Fisherman's Port, the marina, restaurants, hotels, and the annual artists' festivals, such as the Acre Festival for Alternative Theater, The colorful Oriental markets of Acre, the city's walls, museums, beaches, ocean sports sites, are all among the city's tourist attractions.
The city offers schools for the arts, sciences, communications, entrepreneurship and technology, as well as two enrichment centers for toddlers, five community centers that run enrichment programs and a community theater for youths and adults.
