Information and External Relations Unit


Goals

The Information and External Relations Unit is responsible for communicating IAA activities to the public in Israel and abroad, and promoting ties with relevant organizations and institutes.

The unit’s information services consist of the following:

* Handling general inquiries.

* Coordination of volunteers and the “League of Antiquity Guardians”

* Contact with the Knesset Archaeology Lobby

* Organizing events for the general public and cultivating community relations.

* Communication with information and other public agencies.

* Presenting IAA activities and organizing the Archaeology Circle meetings at the President’s House.

The unit’s external relations activities consist of the following:

* Coordination and follow-up of contacts with organizations and institutes worldwide.

* Contact and cooperation with the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs–– Cultural and Scientific Relations Unit and Official Guests Department.

* Member of UNESCO Committee on Cultural Heritage.

* Cooperation with the European Union.

* Reception of foreign guests.

* Identifying projects for international cooperation.

* Assistance in organizing the Israel Exploration Society conferences and the annual archaeological congress.
