[2] Bronze Prutah of John Hyrcanus I (135-105 BCE) showing double cornucopias with a pomegranate-topped priestly scepter. Discovered in IAA excavations in Kh. Hadat, 2004, near the ancestral home of the Maccabean dynasty.
[3] Silver Tetradrachm depicting the portrait of Ptolemy X, minted in Alexandria in 94-93 BCE. The coin belongs to a large silver hoard found in the coastal waters opposite the Carmel Range by the Marine Archaeology unit of the IAA.
[4] Bronze Prutah minted by King Herod (37-4 BCE) in Jerusalem, depicting an X surrounded by a diadem and the greek inscription "of King Herod".Discovered in IAA excavations in el-Khirba, 2004.
[5] Silver Sheqel, dated year 1 (66/67 CE), minted in Jerusalem during the Jewish War against the Romans (66-70). The coin was discovered during the Joint excavation of archaeologists J.W.Crowfoot and G.M. Fitzgerald in the City of David, Jerusalem, in 1927-28 and entered into the Departments' holding October 18th, 1929.
[6] Golden Solidus showing the bust of the Roman Emperor Valentinian I minted at Constantinople in 364-367 CE. It forms part of a hoard excavated by the IAA in Ascalon in 2003.
[7] Golden Solidus of the Emperor Phocas, minted at Constantinople in 602-603 CE, showing an angel holding globus cruciger and long staff. Excavated in 1981 at En-Nabratein, Northern Israel.
[8] Ummayad copper Fals, minted in Beisan (Beth She'an) between 697-750 CE. The coin depicts a fish in incuse. Discovered in IAA excavations at Beth She'an in 1986.
[9] Low grade silver denier showing the portrait of Frederick II Hohenstaufen, King of Sicily (1197-1250), minted in Messina between 1225-1228. Discovered in IAA excavations in Jaffa, 2002.
