ENTRY-LEVEL ANTIQUITIES CONSERVATORS
The Israel Antiquities Authority’s (IAA) Department of Artifacts Treatment is responsible for treating and preserving items in its storerooms, and new finds uncovered in IAA excavations and surveys. After treatment by conservators, the objects will be published, exhibited and/or placed in suitable storage.
Description of work:
Treatment and preservation (in the laboratory and field, when necessary) of ancient pottery, glass, stone, metal, and organic items; preparation of the items for exhibit and/or suitable storage.
Requirements:
* Academic education in one or more of the following: archaeology, art, history, chemistry, biology; preference to those with diploma or academic studies in conservation.
* Team worker
* Outstanding work ethic
* Willing to commit to conservation studies in Israel or abroad (with aid from the IAA).
* Willing to take a psychometric exam
* Resident of the Jerusalem area
