Description: The central part of a bowl with a ring-shaped base made of pinkish clay.The inner part is decorated with the figure of a Venetian merchant, depicted in profile. The merchant can be identified by his haircut, flat hat and the gown which is typical of Venetian merchants during the 14th century. The decoration was executed by engraving and is painted in white, yellow, green and blue and covered with transparent glaze which gives a deep brown background to the figure. The bowl is unique.
