Description: Bowl with carinated shoulder, ledge rim and a small base ring. The bowl is coated on the inside with a light yellow lead glaze and decorated with a bird in the center and diagonally shaped leaves on the rim with dabs and splashes of green and brown glaze. The bowl belongs to the group of Port St. Symeon wares, the Crusader name for the port of al-Mina, which was occupied by the Franks from the beginning of the 12th century until 1268 CE. The examples found in Israel were imported from the area of Antioch, dated to the 13th century.
